At Safa & Serenity Counselling, we believe that emotional wellbeing flourishes in an atmosphere of compassion, understanding, and respect.

The name Safa - meaning purity and clarity - reflects our vision: to help you find calm and connection amid life’s challenges.

Our approach blends evidence-based therapy with genuine cultural and spiritual understanding, offering a space where who you are is valued as deeply as what you’re going through.

Why We Founded Safa & Serenity

For many, therapy can feel unfamiliar - something built for others, not for them. Some begin the journey, but leave feeling unseen or misunderstood.

In many traditional settings, including within public health systems, mental health care has not always reflected the realities of those from ethnic minority or faith-based communities.
Language, values, and cultural nuances can be easily overlooked - yet they are central to how people make sense of their emotions, relationships, and healing.

We founded Safa & Serenity to change that: to create therapy spaces that truly understand the whole person - mind, faith, and culture.

Our Therapeutic Approach

We offer an integrative, faith-aware, and culturally sensitive approach, combining insights from person-centred, psychodynamic, and evidence psychological methods.
Each session is tailored to your needs and values — helping you explore patterns, strengthen coping skills, and move toward growth at a pace that feels right for you.

Therapy can take place online across the UK and internationally (where permitted) or in person in Guildford and Manchester.
We also provide walk-and-talk sessions for those who prefer connecting outdoors.

We work with adults from all backgrounds - individuals, couples, and students - seeking therapy that feels inclusive and respectful.
Sessions are available in English and Arabic, and we welcome those for whom English is a second language.
All faiths, ethnicities, and worldviews - including those with no religious affiliation - are welcome.

Whether you’re navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, relationship struggles, grief, or life transitions, or something you can’t yet name you’ll find a space here where your story is understood, not explained away.
