About Safa & Serenity
Our Vision
As a psychologist and psychotherapist, I have spent years reading research, listening to stories, and witnessing firsthand how many people long to have someone listen and understand. However, too often individuals hesitate to seek help because they worry their background, culture, or faith won’t be understood, or that they’ll be judged for who they are. They just don’t feel able to safely share, without censoring themselves or without feeling unseen or misunderstood for who they truly are.
In many traditional settings, including within public health systems, mental health care has not always reflected the realities of those from ethnic minority or faith-based communities.
Language, values, and cultural nuances can be easily overlooked - yet they are central to how people make sense of their emotions, relationships, and healing.
I founded Safa & Serenity Counselling Centre with one simple vision: to create a space that feels truly inclusive, compassionate, and safe for everyone. A place where you can bring your whole self, without fear of judgment. A place full of respect for who you are and what you value. A place where you can heal.
At Safa & Serenity, every session is about understanding the person in front of me, not fitting them into a mould. It is about accepting who my client is and never about who I think they should be. My clients often tell me that what makes our work together different is that they feel able to share and be accepted and respected.
Whatever your goals in therapy, you are very welcome here.

Therapeutic Approach
Our approach is integrative, combining insights from person-centred, psychodynamic, and evidence-based psychological methods.
Each session is tailored to your needs and values - helping you explore patterns, strengthen coping skills, and move toward growth at a pace that feels right for you.
Therapy can take place online across the UK and internationally (where permitted) or in person in Guildford and Manchester.
We can also provide walk-and-talk sessions for those who prefer connecting outdoors.
Who We Work With
We work with adults from all backgrounds - individuals, couples, and students - seeking therapy that feels inclusive, respectful and that helps them work towards a better future.
Sessions are available in English, Arabic, and we welcome those for whom English is a second language. All faiths, ethnicities, and worldviews - including those with no religious affiliation - are welcome.
Whether you’re navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, relationship struggles, depression, grief, or life transitions, or something you can’t yet name you’ll find a space here where your story is understood, not explained away.
Our Philosophy
At Safa and Serenity, we believe that healing belongs to everyone. When therapy embraces your background, beliefs and lived experience, it becomes more than a clinical process it becomes a journey of understanding, resilience, and serenity.
